Race-Ready Brand Audit · 1:1 with David Pulley

You built the deck. Now find out what a sponsor actually sees.

I read your sponsor deck, media kit, and socials the way a sponsorship manager reads them — looking for reasons to say no. You get that written down, slide by slide, with the weak lines rewritten. Then we get on a call and map what you do next.

01 · Why this exists

Finished is not the same as ready.

You can build a deck that looks clean and still lose the deal on slide two. Design is the easy part. What kills most athlete pitches is the thinking underneath it.

The follower count leading instead of the audience story. An ask with no number attached. A logo grid of brands that never paid you. A value proposition that is really just a list of things you want.

You cannot see it, because you wrote it. You know what you meant. A sponsorship manager does not, and she is giving you thirty seconds before the tab closes.

The Race-Ready Brand Audit is me reading your materials cold, writing down every reason a brand would pass, and then fixing the lines that need fixing. Then we talk through where you go from here.

02 · What you get

A written teardown, then a real conversation.

Two deliverables. The document does the heavy lifting so the call is not spent on things I could have typed.

Deliverable 01

The written audit

A document, not notes. Slide-by-slide critique of your deck and media kit, plus a read on your positioning and socials. Every weak line gets a rewritten version you can paste straight in.

  • Slide-by-slide critique, in writing
  • Rewritten copy for the weak slides
  • Positioning and audience-story read
  • Delivered within 5 business days
Deliverable 02

The strategy call

Thirty to forty-five minutes, one on one, after you have read the audit. We use it for the part a document cannot do: deciding what you actually go do next, in what order.

  • 30-45 minutes, direct with David
  • Which brands to approach, and why
  • What to ask for, and what to ask first
  • Your next 90 days, in order
03 · How it works

Four steps, about a week.

01

You book and fill the intake form

Right after payment you land on a short form. Your links, your decks, your goals, and the one thing you most want answered. Takes about five minutes and it is the difference between a generic audit and a useful one.

02

I tear it apart, in writing

Within five business days you get the written audit. Read it before the call. Some of it will sting. That is the point of paying someone who has actually signed a title sponsor rather than asking a group chat.

03

We get on the call

Thirty to forty-five minutes. You bring questions, I bring the audit, and we decide your next moves together. Bring a notebook, not a highlight reel.

04

You go send the pitch

The whole thing is worthless if it ends in a folder. You leave with a rewritten deck and a short list of brands to contact this week.

04 · The checklist

What I am actually reading for.

The first ten seconds

Does your opening slide tell a sponsorship manager what she gets, or what you do?

The audience story

Who follows you, why they trust you, and whether that overlaps with who the brand is trying to reach.

The ask

Is there a number, a tier, and a reason for the number. Vague asks get vague replies.

Proof versus noise

Which of your numbers actually mean something to a brand, and which ones are filling space.

Deliverables you can keep

Whether what you promised is something you can genuinely produce across a full season.

The follow-up path

What happens after she says maybe. Most athletes have nothing built for this and lose the deal there.

06 · Fit

Who this is for.

Book it if

  • You have a deck built and you are about to send it to real brands.
  • You have been sending pitches and getting silence back.
  • A sponsor is interested and you cannot afford to fumble the follow-up.
  • You want honest feedback more than you want encouragement.

Skip it if

  • You have not built anything yet. Start with the Rookie Deck Kit instead.
  • You want someone to build the deck for you. This is a critique, not a design service.
  • You want ongoing coaching. That is the Launchpad program.
  • You are looking for someone to tell you the deck is already great.
07 · Questions

Frequently asked.

What if I do not have a deck yet?

Then this is the wrong purchase. Get the Rookie Deck Kit for $138, build the three documents, and come back when you have something for me to tear apart.

Which comes first, the audit or the call?

The written audit. It lands within five business days of your intake form, and you read it before we talk. That way the call is spent on decisions instead of me reading you a list.

Does this work for sports other than motocross?

Yes. MTB, BMX, downhill, road, off-road, and most individual-athlete sports. Sponsorship managers evaluate the same things regardless of what you ride. If your sport is unusual, say so on the intake form.

Will you actually rewrite my slides?

The copy on the slides that need it, yes — written out so you can paste it in. I am not redesigning your layout or producing new graphics. This is about what the deck says.

How honest is honest?

Direct. If your ask is unrealistic for your current audience I will tell you, and I will tell you what is realistic instead. You are not paying $497 to be flattered.

Who is doing the audit?

Me. David Pulley Jr, professional Supercross athlete and founder of DPMX Media Lab. I have built and signed my own sponsorship program from the privateer side, including a title partner. More on that here.
